This is the name given by Dr Chanjiro Hayashi, Dr Usui's successor, to the form of Reiki that he and Dr Usui evolved. It is designed to carry the essence of Reiki. Mrs Hawayo Takata later carried the Usui system from Dr Hayashi in Tokyo to Hawaii and then to the USA . Since Mrs Takata died in 1980, Reiki has spread like wildfire all over the world and the Reiki community is estimated at well over a million people and growing.
