Why choose this workshop?

Dealing with Inner Conflict

People often times complain about not having enough time, that they don’t know what to do next, that they are not as far along as they should be, and a whole host of myriad other complaints that not only prevent them from accomplishing what they want in their businesses, but from fully enjoying the journey, experiences and people in their lives. The real problem isn’t in our observation of the world but is rather found within an internal conflict that is preventing us from accessing the thoughts, ideas, actions and resources that are available to aid us in creating success.

It's not that we don’t have enough time

It’s because we are not using time wisely

We dissipate so much of our mental energy on Inner conflicts which drain our energy and time. I just want to think about it… How much of your time is consumed by worry? About whether you are making the right decision, thinking about the past, or participating in an anxiety driven way about the future. Questioning if you are doing the right thing, you’re the right type of leader, the right type of partner in your relationship, the right type of Mother or Father for your children. I invite you to think about how much time you spend in anxiety, overwhelm, questioning and doubt and it’s a really honest question you need to ask yourself. How much time is consumed by thoughts that don’t feel good? A lot of people have body image issues the “inner critic” – The voice in the head has a field day when you are getting ready in the morning and says, “You don’t look as good as you did when you were in your 20’s”. The inner voice that not only judges yourself, but other people and it says, “I wonder what he’s thinking about me – or she’s thinking about me” and “Did I just say something that makes me look stupid or I’m not capable or competent in the area I’m working in. If you add up all this time, if you were able to quantify the time you spend in this place on a weekly basis. How many hours would that be for you? I’ve asked this question with nearly everyone I’ve worked with and there is a range and that range goes up to about 20 hrs per week. Sometimes very successful people are honest with themselves they acknowledge they are constantly in self-criticism, self-judgement and the judgement of other people, they are also in anxiety, worry and overwhelm. On the low side I get 5hrs. So just think about what it is for you. If you took the low end of this spectrum that we focus on these things, it’s 250hrs per year, if you look at it over a decade it’s 25000 hours of time we are spending putting our attention on something we don’t want. If you added that all up it’s about a year and a half of your time back. So, what would you do if you got 6 weeks back a year! There would be a lot more possibilities in your life Right. You could write a book – go on some great holidays – go on retreat- do a training- have time for a new hobby- create a new business if you wanted. Yet we always feel there is not enough time.

The issue is not that there is not enough time

The issue is you are not using the time wisely

So, the phenomenon that I’ve just described for you, that’s steeling our time is “Inner Conflict”. The inner conflict not only steals our time but steals our energy because when you think you are in this mental space and it doesn’t feel good, it’s the reason why many of us need 3 coffees just to get through the day. It’s the reason we don’t have energy to get to the gym to do the things we know will help us take care of our physical body.

It steals our time

It steals our energy

And

It steals our presence

This voice in the head which is a manifestation of this inner conflict. The biggest regret that most of my clients have is that they’ve lost a decade of presence with people they care most about in their lives, with their husbands, with their wives, with their children, they weren’t present to capture the magic moments which is really what life is.

So, let me talk about Inner Conflicts - they come in many different forms – You want to create something in your life, maybe make more money. Maybe go out and buy a luxury item. Start a project. Maybe take your business to the next level. You would like to meet the Man or Woman of your dreams. It’s something that you want consciously. But what is happening at an unconscious level is that what you believe about a lot of different aspects of your life is they are not congruent with what you want to create. On one hand you want to take your business to the next level, However, on the other hand although you are not aware of it, you believe that money is hard to make. (Classic – money doesn’t grow on trees) Or you have to work really, really hard to have success in business Or if you are successful in business, you will have to sacrifice other areas of your life – you may not be aware of this right now.

The incongruence creates that inner resistance, it’s what saps your time – it saps your energy - it’s what prevents you from being present in your life and ultimately when you are in that state, you don’ have the energy to create what you want. Have you ever felt like you’ve taken 3 steps forward and 2 steps back – Have you ever wondered “Why is this happening to me Again?” It’s like you know you are only operating at 25%, 30% - 40% of your capacity. It’s because you are carrying around a lead backpack of these inner conflicts and you are simply not aware of it.

So, what can you do. Make an empowered decision to do whatever it takes to resolve this inner conflict.

You will leave the weekend with specific set of tools that will help you create the life you have dreamed of with renewed determination and accountability that will help to ensure you manifest them.

Fun filled, joyous and inspiring.
